Hi Friends, if you read the post below, you know that my husband and I are antique shopping big time. Actually, we have always loved antique shops but there just hasn't been enough time to browse the way we wanted to. Until now.....yay!
We discovered a new shop yesterday and the minute I walked in, my jaw dropped on the floor. Everything was French and old and gorgeous! Much of it was Farmhouse and many things were ultra chic. I thought I wasn't going to be able to breathe for a few minutes. It takes a lot to impress me and the owner had such great taste.....I was just in heaven!
I could not take my eyes off this antique French Copper Flounder Cooker. It weighs a ton and I am not kidding; I can barely lift it. It has a diamond shape with handles on both ends and it is rustic and Farmhousey looking and gorgeous!. I kept coming back to it but the price tag left me breathless....but I was going to stand there and admire it for as long as I could. Haha
My husband bought it for me. Can you stand it? We both are frugal people and just don't spend, spend but he said it was Christmas and we should splurge a bit. Oh, happy day. This is just a beginning design as I will play with it for weeks....you can count on that. :-)
Couldn't wait to show it to you. It is on the kitchen island but probably won't stay there....it takes up a lot of room but I have at least a dozen other places for it.
Okay, enough gushing for one day......I hope you are having a beautiful day! ♥
What a gorgeous find & gift, Barb. you will be able to create all kinds of beauty in it.

Neat, and how sweet of your hubby to buy it for you. What's it made of Barb?

Oh good golly, sorry Hon I just noticed the fish kettle is copper. And pretty hefty copper at that.

Thanks dear Ali. It is made of solid copper...that is why it is so heavy. :-)
ReplyDeleteYou lucky girl! It looks so nice on your counter.
